Jacinda Hunter - Climbing

By Jacinda Hunter

Every year my kids get older.

One begins kindergarten while another starts junior high.

Time has passed so quickly I wonder how I even came to the place where I am.

I wonder where I might be going.

I spend the majority of my days working, cleaning, parenting

and doing all the regular tasks of daily living.

When I can, I climb.

I climb because I love the challenge, the movement, nature, and friends.

But most of all, I climb because I find moments of pure clarity

and peace of mind.

One day I’ll wake up and my kids will all be grown and gone.

I think I will reach for my pack, and go climbing.
