My Go-To for anything on or off trail
I hung up all my other boots after I got these. They are by far, without question, the best "shoe/boot" I've ever owned. I've worn these in the Bugs, throughout the Canadian Rockies (alpine, approach, general hiking), on the BC coast hiking and alpine. They are feather light. Rubber is incredibly sticky. My feet have never, not once been sore or blistered in them. I never feel the rush to take them off when we arrive at camp--while everyone else is rushing to get their boots off. They perform incredibly well when going minimalist (strap on crampons, or climb alpine in them, or scramble in them). And they perform surprisingly well as a multi-day backpacker. Perhaps I will order another pair in case these are discontinued!

Love La Sportiva
These are a little pricey, but so worth it. I've owned a bunch of mid hikers and these are without any doubt, the best. I was sorry to hear they're phasing them out, because I was thinking about a backup pair. I hope the come up with something equal. One IMPORTANT detail- These run 1/2 size small. I wear 11 or 44, but needed 11.5 (45) in these boots. La Sportiva is the best IMO.

Review for HYPER MID GTX
I LOVE these boots! My last pair of boots were some Asolo traditional backpacking boots. They were all leather, heavy (compared to these) and had a very rigid sole. After around 150 miles on them (they were durable) my feet began to hurt so bad that I thought I was getting too worn out to continue with my mountain adventures. My feet were excructiating any time I put on over 15 miles...I wasn't enjoying myself at all. Then I bought these. Turns out, my feet are MUCH happier with a much less rigid sole. I felt like I was 18 again and actually jogged most of the way up Mt. Olympus! Since then, I've topped off a bunch of the CO 14'ers and several things in Idaho and Montana in these boots....all with happy feet. The grip of the soles were invaluable on the Maroon Bells Traverse! The big test I had for these was on Aconcagua. I wore these boots all the way to 20,500 feet before I finally broke down and put on my high altitude boots. My feet were happy all the way up and down that mountain in these boots. Aconcagua is known for eating up boots, and I was shocked at how well these boots stood up to the scree. I did replace the boots after that climb, but they were borderline when I showed up in Argentina. Next up...the Teton Grand Traverse! That was actually what I had in mind when I originally bought them! Thanks for making such a great boot!

Review for HYPER MID GTX
This is my second pair of these great day hikers ,they fit me like they were made for me. I have done most of my hiking in semi desert mountainous conditions ,steep rocky trails lots of loose gravel etc. These boots are lightweight and breathe ,preventing heat build up on those hot dry days. At the end of the 5 or 6 hr. day my feet are still happy to be in the boot.I have also hiked in the rain over wet sloppy and slippery trails the goretex liner kept me dry. had trouble finding these boots at MEC in Canada as they stopped carrying them in favour of the core gtx boot a mistake in my opinion. I hope la Sportiva will continue to produce this great boot.
