Review for SPANTIK
The Spantik is a very important boot for me in Alaska, the Himalaya and winter in the Cascades or Alps. It is not hard to find boots that climb as well (such as the Batura), or boots that are as warm (such as a million clunky boots you see in Everest photos), but what makes the Spantik special is it is both extremely warm AND climbs steep, technical terrain really well. For hard routes in really cold places, this combination is critical.

Review for SPANTIK
I purchased these boots for a technical climb up Liberty Ridge on Mt. Rainier. THESE BOOTS PERFORMED FANTASTIC! right out of the box. The route had a long approach on day 1 - Followed by mixed climbing on day 2, with a 3500 ft gain of steep ice on day 3. In all conditions they were excellent. These boots are warmer than most double boots. I used a thinner sock as a result on Rainier. I still had to dry the liners every night in my bag because they were wet. I purchased Spantiks with future colder climbs in mind(Alaska or The Andes).
