"This is the most comfortable approach shoe I have ever worn that also climbs like a champ. The Boulder X comes from a long history in the La Sportiva line up and this shoe improves and has built on its ancestry. The padding in this shoe is what puts it above its competitors. The Vibram Idro Grip rubber is some of the stickiest I have ever used in an approach shoe." Read the Colorado Mountain School Review

Great shoe, support, and comfort in the roughest trail conditions. 6 miles or 12 miles, this shoe is up for it. Proven in Colorado and the Bavarian Alps. Have just bought a second pair. Please carry replacement laces for this shoe, for my first pair!

Superb performance on steep scrambles / low grade technical climbs. Stiff through the forefoot, able to jam the toe into cracks, medial edging better than lateral. I broke an ankle and have been wearing these around town while I learn how to walk again; the stability they provide is most welcome, the lacing system is thoughtful and flexible enough to accommodate tape / splints. Rubber has been durable within reason for how sticky it is, stable on wet rock and snow. Excellent shoe for the price. Took a while to break in.

A- fantastic in every way except the sticky rubber wears out way too fast - the lacing and fit is perfect and this would be perfect do everything shoe if they updated it with less sticky and harder wearing rubber - i went thru a sole in 8 months wearing them as my everyday shoe - otherwise prob the best shoe on the market

Did the West Coast trail (British Columbia, Canada). Very slippery wet terrain. Great shoe for the rugged forest trails/beach/boulders/slippery boardwalks. Dried quick enough.

All I have to say is comfortable!

Wore them all weekend in Joshua Tree, held great in class 3 scrambling, free soloed some low class 5 stuff and finished off with a 10 mile hike on the last of three days. My feet felt great all day and the day after. Great Shoe.

I have worn through shoes after one Zion wall. This is the first shoe that has held up to standing in aiders all day, hiking miles with a pack, and route setting in the local climbing gym.

Whether it's a long day approach to an alpine spire in Rocky Mountain National Park or a quick walk to one of Eldorado Canyon's classic routes, the Boulder X is the ideal choice. It's burly enough to take a rough trail and climbs well to the base of the route.- Mark Hammond, Colorado Mountain School Head Guide
