So, let me begin with just the looks, because damn these shoes look really sweet. For the technicals of the shoe, by far the best boulder shoe out there right now. I haven't been able to heel hook like this before until getting the Solutions, and not to mention how the arc is perfection... by far the best shoe I've ever owned. Period. Pick up a pair if you can for sure!

Hands down the best aggressive bouldering/steep sport climbing shoe on the market. The edging on these bad boys is incredible, not to mention the killer heel-hook action. I'm on my third pair, let that be the testament. :)

The ‘Solution’ to ALL my projects…...would be to lose weight and get in better shape. In the meantime, however, I can tell you that these shoes have been great when I applied them to areas Sportiva recommends as “ideal terrain”. Read more at 307andbeyond.tumblr.com

To put it flatly, this shoe was the difference between a 12 and a 13. If I ran competitions, it would be banned as a performance enhancer or mandatory to get everyone on the same level. This is the shoe your mother warned you about, no BS, straight business. Put it on, climb, take it off, return to ground, it's not comfortable, it's not sugar coated, its a machine that will make you climb beyond what you thought you could.

This shoe is amazing, the heel simply feels like it is becoming part of the rock, and the edging is solid! I haven't completely broke them in, so long climbs can be a little uncomfortable but I've never had a more amazing shoe for bouldering, outdoor or in the gym.

This shoe is a godsend. Before trying the solution I had been through more than 10 pairs of different shoes! Now that I have found the solutions I will never go back to another shoe. For the more advanced climber these are the best shoe on the market, period. They are snug and aggressive, however, they are also extremely padded inside for maximum comfort albeit their advanced posture. Bottom line: if your serious about climbing these are your shoes.

This is THE shoe for steep climbing and I've even started using the solution for lower angle routes that require a lot of smearing. Being a shorter climber I frequently make use of it's downturn - to pull onto footholds and grab far away edges. The 3-D molded heel is unbeatable for heel hooks, and stays put even when you need to roll around on a heel placement. Sticky rubber on the toe makes for easy and bomber toe hooking as well. Make sure to get the right fit: these shoes stretch out quite a bit - making the break in period pretty rough - but it's worth it in the end.

The Solution has that perfect snug fit everyone looks for in a shoe.  It's got a heel that stays tight after being broken in, and a toe that doesn't skate around in the gym and outdoors.  Surely the solution is my favorite shoe on the market.  Not to mention it's got that Sportiva fly to it!

Solution - An amazing shoe for climbing where high performance is desired. I use it for bouldering, sport climbing, and technical crack climbing where difficult foot placements exist. I have a pretty narrow foot and usually have to wear lace up shoes, but the Solution accommodates my foot with the velcro fast closure system.

Out of every La Sportiva shoe that I have tried, the Solution has been the only shoe that I trust in performance. The "robot" shoe features a downturned toe with a cup in the center, allowing a suction cup fit on incut holds. The p3 band allows the Solution to keep the arch of your foot permanately downturned (most downturned shoes will become flat after a couple of weeks without this band). Lastly, the all rubber heel gives complete control when hooking on aretes or incut holds. The solution performs best when climbing in a roof, but can also handle slightly overhung terrain, or even vertical climbing. When I enter into a pro competition, I always make sure to have the Solution on me. Whatever the terrain, the Solution can handle it.

When fitting this shoe, I always downsize a half to full size because the shoe stretches so much. It can adapt to a narrow or wide foot. I have yet to find many flaws in the Solution. It edges, toe hooks, heel hooks, and grabs perfectly. I will continue to use this shoe for every area that I travel too.

One of my favorite all time steep climbing shoes are the Solutions. My recent trip to the Red River Gorge in Kentucky only increased my resolve that the Solutions are the best steep shoes on the market. We spent the majority of the days climbing in the wickedly steep Madness cave, and I felt confident to put my big toe on an edge and pull my weight over my hips. The Solutions are also exceptional heel and toe hookers! There were many opportunities that I took advantage of the useful toe or heel hook often on the same climb. They not only work well on super steep, but the slightly overhanging routes would also succumb to the Solution advantage. If you need to rock over on your big toe, heel hook, or toe hook like a champ you have your solution.

I've never thought that there was much of a difference between rock shoes before I climb with the Solution. It feels like cheating to me to wear those in overhanging climbing. So much easier to climb with these than any other shoes I've tried before.....and comfortable too!

My go to shoe for any project I need a complete shoe, from toe to heel these shoes work perfect.

My go to shoe. I used to hate the heel and I thought the toe was clunky until I sized them correctly. Now they are not only the best heel hooking shoe I've ever owned, I trust my toe to stay on anything.  Although they look really similar to the Testarossa, they are quite different.  The Solution is a more rigid, less sensitive shoe, whereas the Testarossa is a little more flexible and soft.  Like I said, it took me a while to get to like the Solution.  I liked the sensitivity of the Testarossa but once I learned to trust the Solution to stay where I put it, it has become my first choice.  Honestly I can't say enough good things about the Solution.  Make sure to size them rather small because they stretch out a bit once they are broken in.  If you are looking for a good edging shoe for more vertical to slabby terrain I wouldn't recommend the Solution or Testorossa.  Instead, go with the Miura VS.  They make small edges feel like jugs.

French and Spanish limestone, Maple, American Fork, Rifle, Red River Gorge and in the gym. These have changed the way I can use my feet on this terrain.
