A technical all synthetic approach shoe designed to perform on approaches, easier rock climbs and alpine climbs.

An all synthetic upper eliminates stretch and repels water while keeping the weight down. The Overwrap™ rand construction technology addresses edge roll issues by encapsulating the midsole in the rand construction, which lets you comfortably stand on smaller edges. The Vibram® X-Traction® outsole with Idro Grip compound combines lugs and edging platforms for walking and climbing performance. To-the-toe lacing allows you to easily adjust the fit for various end uses and a dual density midsole provides excellent cushion for long days and big objectives. An excellent tool for moving fast in the mountains or getting to the crag.

  • Toe box Overwrap™ technology rand construction controls foot creep when edging and smearing
  • Dual density EVA midsole is soft under the heel for all day comfort and end of the day trudging
  • Sticky Vibram® Idro-Grip rubber is amazing on the rock
  • Highly compressed EVA RockGuard in the forefoot

The best shoe I've found for technical running/scrambling. I use these for after-work speed laps on the Flatirons in Boulder and have used them for quick, 1/2day car-car times on the Grand Teton and Mt Sir Donald in Canada. Sole is sticky, as claimed (unlike other manufacturers). There is enough support for edging and long trail miles, but weight is reasonable. I wish it was slightly lighter, with a more running-style heel cushion, but this is by far the best for running to and then climbing low 5th class objectives. I even used them for 2wks in the Bugs for my glacier travel and approach footwear and they worked wonderfully--no need to lug around heavy mountaineering boots once on route (they will wet-out of course).

The only way to improve these would be to combine this with the vertical K and you'd have an unbeatable mountain running/scrambling shoe. Or, put this toe and and lacing system on a C-lite.
