I am pleased with the quality of a bomb proof boot. i have worn them much of this winter for anything from cross snow fields, to rocky outcrops, with little to no weight, to a 75 lb pack to my camp a few mile from home. Over time the waterproofness of the leather seemed to deminish and a couple rounds of sno seal put that to rest. In front of the toe loops the left boot leather creases a bit onto my toes but does not at all effect the toe movement and comfort in that area.. I have them cinched all the way tight to where there is no more tightening if i wore a med weight sock. the cinch loops could be set back a bit more to take into consideration a skinny persons ankle area.. I will wear them til they die like i did my last pair tho.. very comfortable..

Just took my new Karakorum's on their first backpacking trip. The first day they felt a little uncomfortable. The second day they were like old friends! I've heard they are not waterproof, NOT TRUE. I crossed creeks and the water rolled off 100%, like water off a ducks back. They are a tad narrow but, I like them so much I don't care. My feet don't slide around in them, even climbing a steep slope, up or downhill. The Karakorum's protected my ankles in rocky conditions. I am very happy they will accept my step in crampons. Overall I'm very happy with this boot. I've had my heavy mountaineering version for 15 years and they are still like new. Of course I only wear them in snow and Ice

Great boot! Just picked it up on Friday and went from -5 to -28 in an hour of travel and no change in the warmth on my feet. Looking forward to some years with these. Thanks for making great products.
Regards,
Jason
