My first endeavour using these boots was to crib goch in Snowdonia. The temperature was about 5 degrees Celsius, whilst the weather was misty and rainy. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for complete comfort without compromising features. It’s comprised of a Gore Tex membrane making the boot waterproof, breathable. The Trango S Evo GTX a lightweight practical boot which is used by mountain rescue teams. It is also compatible with B2 rated crampons for those snowy days.

Been wearing this Trango or its' predecessors for 15 yrs for chukar hunting in Idaho. Light with great support, and the narrow sole really reduces foot stress when side-hilling steep stuff.

I found the information online a bit sparse so here are a few extras that might help someone considering the Alp or Trango S.
I wear a 44.5 Nepal Evo Gtx sized with about a finger behind the heal when toes touching front of boot. With the same sock combo in the Alp I find I have a similar fit with a 44.0.
Compared to the Trango S EVO, the toe box of the 'S' seems more tapered than the Alp and I move back to a 44.5 in the 'S' for the same fit. I thought the 'S' and Alp would be the same last and essentially the same boot with the Alp a bit sturdier.
On first impressions, the Alp probably is more durable since there is less fabric and metal lace system. The two models are considerably different but could still be used in similar climbing situations. The Alp has a considerably different sole (more lugs) than the 'S'. The 'S' has a solid edging section underneath the big toe region for a better stick on small edges. It seems the rubber may be a bit stickier on the 'S' but both are decent in stickiness; much more so than the Nepal rubber.
Keep on climbin!
