Second pair, should have called it quits with the first
I am a trad climber, hunter, hiker and Mountain Safety Officer. I work all day, most days at 11,000 ft. This is my fourth pair of La Sportiva climbing/mountaineering shoe. If you have a wide foot, beware. I wear a solid size 10.5+ but in a D or wide width. La Sportivas have a narrow last. My second pair of Boulder X did not fair better than the first. Split leather at the inner foot on both. Would love to share pictures. I resoled both with vibram in the first season. Laces don't last. I replaced both pairs with 3mm perlon laces. I own the Trango S evo which has been very durable except for the laces. The fit also is narrow. Not good for me. I also own a pair of rock shoes by LS that delaminated during a climb at J-Tree. I have found Asolos are a better fit because of a wider last and they also carry wide sizes. Sorry LS, I tried. Let me know when you add a wide last, more durable soles and laces and a glue that doesn't fail/delam mid route. Safety D.

Great Shoe for hiking and Approach
I wore these this summer, July-Aug 2018, on a climbing trip into the Cirque of the Towers, Wind River Range, Wyoming. With 60+ pound pack of a week's food, climbing equipment, ropes, etc. This shoe performed better than my heavy duty Montagne's the year before. They were outstanding in how they gripped the rock, cushioned my feet, and kept my feet pretty dry during a two hour downpour/hailstorm on the hike out.

On approaches they also performed well. I felt like I had real control over my foot placements, and I had no fear of the rubber slipping, no matter what the conditions were.

My one complaint--they're too bulky and heavy to carry up a long, alpine route for the hike/rappel down. No matter though, I love these shoes! I wear my souped up Teva's (climbing rubber on the bottom) for light carrying up long routes.: )

Built like a tank
These shoes are heavy and durable. It takes a bit of time to break them in, and once you do the fit is still snug but comfortable. They climb really well. I've hiked, scrambled, short-roped, and led in these. My feet have stayed dry after two days in steady rain wearing these shoes. The only thing I wouldn't recommend would be carrying these in a pack up a route to wear for the descent. I've got a pair of super-light TX2s for that. But for burly approaches, aid climbing, 3rd and 4th class, these are awesome.

A-fantastic in every way except the sticky rubber wears out way too fast - the lacing and fit is perfect and this would be perfect do everything shoe if they updated it with less sticky and harder wearing rubber - i went thru a sole in 8 months wearing them as my everyday shoe - otherwise prob the best shoe on the market

I have worn through shoes after one Zion wall. This is the first shoe that has held up to standing in aiders all day, hiking miles with a pack, and route setting in the local climbing gym.

Wore them all weekend in Joshua Tree, held great in class 3 scrambling, free soloed some low class 5 stuff and finished off with a 10 mile hike on the last of three days. My feet felt great all day and the day after. Great Shoe.

Did the West Coast trail (British Columbia, Canada). Very slippery wet terrain. Great shoe for the rugged forest trails/beach/boulders/slippery boardwalks. Dried quick enough.

Great shoe, support, and comfort in the roughest trail conditions. 6 miles or 12 miles, this shoe is up for it. Proven in Colorado and the Bavarian Alps. Have just bought a second pair. Please carry replacement laces for this shoe, for my first pair!

Review for BOULDER X
Whether it's a long day approach to an alpine spire in Rocky Mountain National Park or a quick walk to one of Eldorado Canyon's classic routes, the Boulder X is the ideal choice. It's burly enough to take a rough trail and climbs well to the base of the route.- Mark Hammond, Colorado Mountain School Head Guide
