Favorite shoe for offtrail
I used the Bushido on part of the Sierra High Route in 2015 and loved them. So a bought a new pair for the Wind River High Route this September and once again I loved them. I have a med/narrow foot, width and volume and they fit like a glove. I do size up a half to one full size. They are stable and extremely sticky while boulder hopping up and over high passes.

Great Fitting Shoe
I currently own 4 pairs of the Bushido including one black with orange, two of the blue with yellow, and one grey with yellow. I never had a shoe that fits so good. I normally were a 12 but I had to buy the 13. My feet are very narrow. Great shoe just waiting on the new colors to buy more.

Surgical Precision for Vermont Trail Running
Running single track on the Vermont Long Trail and AT can be very technical due the pitch, wet, rocky, very rooty, rough terrain. Every step has to land precisely in the right place each time -- or you crash. The longer the run the more likely a missed foot placement, a close call or worse. Bushido's fit my feet like a glove, they're lean with no play, great ground feel and grip. They land exactly where you aim them, every stride, up or down, so you can enjoy moving fast across super rough trails. Just bought my fourth pair, wouldn't do trail running without them, in all seasons -- amazing shoes -- thank you LaSportiva!

I tired to love them
I just finished my thru-hike on the John Muir Trail in California 2 days ago. Myself and our guide both had the Bushidos for our 233 mile trek through the Sierra. I purchased mine in February 2018 after reading extensive thru-hike reviews about which trail runner to wear for my trip. The Bushidos came highly rated. I’ve completed several trail marathons in other brands, but was excited to try these highly rated shoes for my backcountry adventure. With that said, I had plenty of break-in trail runs, weekend backpacking trips, and stream crossing in my new Bushidos before my high Sierra trek in July 2018.

Pros: I loved the grip and traction of the shoes on the many granite rocks we bouldered. I noticed other trekkers slipping in boots. My shoes gave me confidence and stability on rock with my 35 pound pack. In addition, they were lightweight and dried quickly after the many thunderstorms we encountered the first week on the trail.

Cons: Myself and our guide quickly developed the same blister pattern on our feet on Day 1 of our 23 day trek. I was surprised to have this happen knowing that I had quality break-in time with the shoes prior to my thru-hike. I wore mid-lightweight wool socks, wore gaiters daily, and sized up a 1/2 size (Bushidos run small). If it wasn’t for my daily foot care, Compede, foot massages from my trail family, and sandals, My trip would have been miserable in these shoes. I developed a different blister each day for the 1st week out on the JMT. My guide experienced the same thing. Also, I would give a thumbs down for durability. Both the soles of our shoes are falling off. This occurred rather quickly for us at ~ 150 miles. And finally, I felt every rock, pebble, and stick under my foot. It would have been nice to have a reinforced foot bed that I know other brands have.

I very much prefer hiking in trail runners over hiking boot and had high hopes for the Bushidos. For future hikes I’d love to stick with something that is lightweight, stable on rocks under foot, breathable, comfortable, and perhaps give me much less trouble with blisters.... La Sportiva, can you help me with that?!

Sincerely,

Sweet Sister Blister

Angel’s Landing
I bought a pair for my daughter a week before a planned trip to Zion because she hates to break in shoes,. I instructed her to walk around her campus for the week, she called me the next day and said she loved them. I went that night and bought a pair for me. The hike to the top of Angel’s Landing was amazing with these shoes. There was no slipping on the loose sand and extremely light weight. Definitely recommend them!

Very pleased!
Great trail runner. Very responsive with great traction and good room up front in the toe box. I have a thinner foot and high arches. I usually wear a US 11.5. I bought the 45.5 size which fits great. Therefore, it seems like these might run a little small since a 45.5 equates to a US 12.
Hope his was helpful. Happy trails.

Best Trail Runner for Technical Terrain
The Bushido is a great trail-running shoe. I am on my second pair, running the first into the ground across a series of trail races from 10K-to-50K. My first pair continued in good service around town and in the garden until the holes in the fabric were too large. My second pair is in the Flame color and I really like the way they look.

La Sportiva has a history of making solid trail running shoes and this model combines features that are necessary for success on the rocky, root-laden trails of the trap-rock ridges in the Hartford Basin. Durable material on the outside of the sole, a sturdy toe-cap, and sticky rubber for excellent traction all work together to provide confidence running up and down the technical slopes here in Connecticut.

I've run in most brands, from Inov-8 and Montrail to Brooks and Saucony, and I have learned that the shoes designed by La Sportiva are simply the best. These Bushido trail runners lock my heel into place and provide plenty of room up front without becoming sloppy. The low profile and heel-drop give me that float-across-the-obstacles feel as I dance about the angular blocks of basalt and diabase riddling most trails here in the valley.

I highly recommend these shoes and hope that La Sportiva will continue produce the same or similar trail-running shoes in the years ahead - my two boys are now running in La Sportivas as well.

Review for Bushido
Extremely pleased with my Bushidos. These shoes have great fit, are very comfortable, light and good looking. I am not a competitive trail runner, but according to my Garmin GPS I ran in Bushidos this summer about 250 miles on mixed terrain. The shoes are very stable on rocky trails. Some extra sole cushioning could be beneficial to have, but I understand that it might add more weight to the shoes. My shoes are still holding on well, but have already nearly lost their grip due to excessive wear of lugs in the front part of the sole and under the heel. I have to mention that I also used these shoes for climbing Mt. Whitney with nearly 30 lb backpack, which was not a problem at all. I have already purchased my second pair of Bushidos for the next season. My wife also has got Bushidos and she loves them! Great product! I would not hesitate to recommend Bushidos to anyone shopping for a pair of good and comfortable trail runners.
