TX2

TX2

$125.00 - $130.00
The lighter cousin of the TX3, the TX2 is a lightweight approach shoe that stows easily. Enhanced support and sticky rubber keep you sure-footed in the mountains, while the one-piece knit uppers optimize drainage and breathability. C2™ ComboCord loops around the heel platform to allow easy pairing and storage on a harness or in a pack.

I love these shoes.
The lightest approach shoes I've worn. Great grip on rock. Elastic ComboCord makes a compact package to hang on harness while climbing. Haven't tried anything harder than 4th class in these since they're not as stable as climbing shoes but that shouldn't stop confident climbers from upping the grade. Knit upper breaths but will let dirt in on dusty trails. The liquid rubber rand is holding up well. Replaced insoles with a pair of Superfeet insoles but I think most people will not need them. Fits well in my street shoe size (11.5/45) with lightweight socks.
Note: I have the earlier yellow/black version.

Excellent - Will Purchase Again
Mostly use these for downhill runs on MTB, so they pedal and do a lot of walking uphill. They are very, very light - almost like middle-distance track flats. Very stable under foot, great grip. They hug like slippers but aren't tight. Drain very nicely after creek crossings. Worn for nearly a year of 15-25 miles/week and they are holding up very well. I may try on TX3's for comparison one day, but will definitely stay with the TX series. Very well executed footwear.

Perfect Slab Shoes
It seems like these shoes were made specifically for scrambling the Flatirons. I love that I don't have to change out of my approach shoes when it comes time to do some world-class slab climbing. A chalk bag and my TX2's are all that I need, even for the 1st.

Not sure what the other reviewer with the "dissolved laces" was talking about. I guess I don't climb slabs in the rain, so it hasn't been a problem for me. So far, mine have held up super well.

Don't wear if it rains
Attractive comfortable shoe with good grip but the fine laces are very handsome but have no tensile strength when they become wet. Laces virtually dissolve and break and the eyelets are so small that conventional stronger laces cannot be threaded. Avoid unless you want to risk going barefoot after a puddle.

Company unresponsive to complaints and has no stronger thin laces to replace.

Sportiva's best yet!?
It's like the Vertical K and the Xplorer had a baby and named it TX2. This super technical, lightweight shoe takes the best features of both of those shoes and puts them into this slick package. Highly sticky rubber, even on wet surfaces, a roomy toebox, and a flexible upper, make it high performance yet, comfortable, and minimalist enough to disappear when clipped to the back of your harness. Even the cord on the back of each shoe that can be used to strap them together is rugged and reliable. Loving this shoe!

Review for TX2
These rock! The wide forefoot makes a huge difference in comfort. It's about time someone made a shoe shaped like a foot! Highly recommended!
