Great ankle support, comfortable but not waterproof!
These boots hardly needed breaking in. The lacing system provides a snug fit on the ankle and is very supportive. They are very comfortable despite having a bunion and bunionette on both feet. I would recommend changing the insoles, as they are not very cushioned but other than that, they feel great. They are not rugged or stiff enough for scrambling but will serve you well on a regular trail. I am, however extremely disappointed that they have not held up to rain. They are not waterproof as advertised and I would expect something at this price point to be of better quality. I have owned these for one month and the 3 times I was caught in the rain (only 1 time was the rain heavy), they soaked through right into my socks. I had planned to keep them anyway despite this flaw due to their comfort but after the 3rd time, decided the unreliability was a major issue.

Best Boot in its category
This boot is perfect in so many ways; it is comfortable, supportive and offers great traction. I bought a pair of Trangos when they first arrived on the scene years ago. The original Trango was a so called "unisex" boot, aka Mens boot so consequently the boot never fit quite right and the mid sole was created for a much heavier person so it was a serious Achilles' tendon strainer for us lighter folk. Along comes this new version and Once again Sportive has outdone themselves - this is a great boot for any serious endeavor involving steep, slippery, heavy hikes and the boot is well suited for crampons as well. Hats off to Sportiva for offering women a female Trango. I should mention, if you have a European type of foot (on the medium to narrow side) you'll be pleased with the fit. If you have thick wide feet your may find these a bit narrow.

Bummed
I was so excited excited with this shoe and drove 2 hours to try them on and buy them!! A perfect fit and so comfortable... buuuut then I hiked in them. In all my hiking I've never experienced pain in the balls of my feet like I get with these and my feet itch/burned like crazy (especially the bottoms). I tried a few different insoles to help... nothing did. So after two horrible foot days on the Haute Route, I ditched them for a pair I found in a local outdoors shop. I've owned many La Sportiva shoes over the last decade+... even married in a different pair on a summit! So this is nothing against LS or their products. I'm just uber bummed and all I can think is maybe they aren't breathing that well or my foot is allergic to something in the shoe.

For the narrow foot
Used these boots to hike parts of Europe and many parts of the USA. Absolutely my favorite pair of boots I have ever owned. I have a narrow heal and these boots totally fit the bill. Would not recommend if you have a wide foot. Lasportiva boots are for the smaller more narrow feet. Since that's me.. I can't say enough. I love them!!

These are what you're looking for
These are the greatest hiking shoes EVER. Comfort, grip & versatility. I had no issues when I wore them (without even breaking them in!!!) no pain & equal pressure on each foot.

I was also informed that these are vegan which is huge! (& waterproof!)

I usually have to buy wide foot shoes & it was said that they ran narrow but honestly the fit for the toe space was perfect.

You get what you pay for with these & it is well worth it!

Review for Trango TRK GTX Women's
I actually purchased the men's version of these boots, but am including the review here. My first pair of La Sportiva boots was the Glacier Wildland Fire boots, which don't come in a women's version. They fit great, and I wanted something lighter with a similar fit for general hiking/backpacking. I have wide feet, and the women's Trango seemed a little narrow when I tried them on in the store. Ordered the men's size, and so far I love them!! Had the extra width I wanted, and don't rub on my heel when going uphill like most boots I've had in the past. The men's version is a little heavier, but I recommend going this route if you want extra width.

Review for TRANGO TRK GTX WOMEN'S
I love these boots! LaSportiva, thank you for making a supportive, lightweight, and precise boot for backpacking with moderate weight for many miles and multiple days. Such boots are hard to find in the current market, and I have been waiting for over a year to replace my old backpacking boots - the LaSportive M-Hike. I just purchased these and their maiden voyage was a 6 day trip in the Grand Canyon, carrying a 40 pound pack (ncluding water). They fit great, gave great ankle and knee support, and I had no blisters or crunched toes. They fit like a climbing shoe, and the climbing zone on the toe is perfect for steep ascents. I am looking forward to climbing peaks with them this summer, and they have great traction in the snow. The previous review mentioned the color, and at first they did seem quite bright, but after a day in the dirt you don't even notice.

Review for TRANGO TRK GTX WOMEN'S
Love these boots! Equal pressure on my entire foot, the toe is not really wide and there is just the right amount of ankle support for multi-day backpacking trip. Wait for a sale to get the high price down a bit but still worth it.
