Best Trail/ Mountain Runners Ever!!
These shoes are ridiculously awesome! I have had 2 pairs of them, one I still have and use as a river/water shoe. First pair (2014) I had I punished over a year straight in the rainforest and mountains of Hawaii. Honestly one of the roughest environments as far as tearing apart shoes and clothes I have ever been in. In and out of water and mud and miles stack on top of each other several time a week. Brought them out to Colorado and staked a quick 200 miles on them in a couple months which finished them off. Second pair I picked up early 2016 over a Spring/Summer/Fall I stacked well over a 100 summits on peaks over 13000 ft. These shoes made love to my feet every mile. The ability to stack back to back days of peak bagging and have your feet happy after weeks is unbelievable! Too many days out not in these shoes hating life at mile 15 in the day. Not these bad boys! I’m currently in another couple pairs of La Sportiva trail runners and love them also but the stiffness of this sole is perfect. I can land on a sharper point of granite mid foot were most shoes will buckle and fold over till your foot takes to much weight in one spot and the Raptors take it and spread that impact over a wider area causing your foot to work less and take a less of a beating. These are just a touch heavier due to the stiff sole but still a light runner/hiker. These Raptors are straight Beasts! I’ll be picking up a 3rd pair for this summer.

Can you say, "Sneaker Mountaineering"?
If you're into "Sneaker Mountaineering", get these! If you need a tough trail runner or a light hiking shoe, get these! With sticky rubber and good protection you won't be disappointed. Get the GTX version if you think you'll be getting into snow & mud (or wet grass, etc). These shoes are truly awesome!

This is Quality right here
La Sportiva is the only brand I know that builds true quality products that are built to last. I have boots that are fifteen years old! The trick is breaking in their boots and shoes correctly. It took me two weeks to break these in but once you do, they are like a custom fit. The thing I like the most, and the thing I hate on all other competitor products, is the strong lateral reinforcement. You won't roll your forefoot with these. On other shoes, the lateral reinforcement is gone in a few weeks and the shoes become flimsy. I literally cannot say enough about this brand. So consistent, super quality, and a brand that I trust. I am on their site right now to buy another pair of shoes.

Blisters plus
Wore these on a trail run and got incredibly bad blisters on the insole and heal. The fit feels good when put on, sizing is correct but I cannot wear these shoes and they are complete waste of money. I tried to wear them around the house and driving on a long trip but no relief. These shoes have put me of out action for two weeks until the blisters heal. My other La Sportiva approach shoes are very comfortable. Who would put PU leather in the heal anyway? Shoe have paid closer attention when purchasing them.

Excellent Trail Running Shoe
I bought these a year ago to do trail running in the foothills and mountains of Northern Colorado, year round. Having been a runner and a mountaineer for over 30 years, I can tell you that these are a perfect cross-over shoe for running on trail conditions commonly found in the mountains.

These shoes are also quite comfortable for regular road running as well as treadmill runs.

The traction of the soles is excellent and I have no difficulty feeling the trail, contrary to what some others have previously said. I wouldn't rely on them in mud or icy conditions, but then again, there aren't any shoes/boots that I have found that will work well, by themselves, in those conditions anyway.

Sturdy really for hiking not running
First impressions; good fit in the heel, but difficult to tighten across the midfoot (due to the very heavy duty uppers).

After 100k... Very heavy ( but tough) shoes, no signs of wear on the uppers or soles. Extremely cushioned, and good traction, but with this comes zero ground feel, and a precariously high position in the shoe. After two trail runs I had sprained my ankle once, and the very tall/ cupped heels had cut in to my heel.

I could only recommend these for slow trail jogging are walks.

Great buy
I bought myself a pair of these shoes about 2 years ago and finally had to retire these shoes after I blew out the toes off of both shoes. These shoes lasted through numerous miles of hiking, running, and daily life. Well worth it if you are looking for a quality pair of shoes.

BEST OF THE BEST
I purchased a pair of La Sportiva Bushido shoes a couple of months ago, I use them for biking, hiking and today for golf - shot 3 under par (Great Golf Shoe!). Yesterday I went to BackCountry warehouse in Salt Lake City to find a pair of hiking/approach shoes for summer hiking in the Wasatch Mountains and Utah State Parks. I spent 1&1/2 hours trying on about 12 various shoes from a variety of manufacturers trying to find the best shoe possible. The ULTRA RAPTOR came out on top! This morning before my golf game I took a 2 hour hike in rocky mountain terrain and the ULTRA RAPTOR shoes performed, no exceeded my expectations. Great support and grip! I had a concern because of one review regarding the shoe platform - I have very weak ankles from many basketball injuries - not problem with these shoes. Thank you La Sportiva for making great products that help me enjoy life!!!

Good traction but high and narrow profile feels unstable
This is my 3rd pair of La Sportiva running shoes. I want to preface this review by saying that La Sportiva makes my favorite running shoes. I got these as a more substantial trail running shoe for longer distance runs and lightweight backpacking. The tread, like all Sportiva shoes, has great rubber and grips great. Also, the quality seems pretty good and the uppers don't look like my toes will blow out the side mesh which usually happens. That being said, I really don't like this shoe. The fit is fine (although maybe it could be said that it runs a little small) but the shoe generally has a very high profile without a wide base; put in other words, I feel that the shoe is very unstable and I am always afraid of spraining my ankle, especially on fast rocky descents. In fact, I think I did sprain my ankle wearing these shoes now that I think about it. Also, the platform doesn't allow my toes to splay out and really get that grip I'm used to with other Sportiva shoes. One of the reasons I got this show was the low heel to toe drop - but aside from that, this show does not have good ground feel. I hate to be negative on any Sportiva products - but I really can't endorse this shoe and am regretful that I paid retail for them. I've put a couple hundred trail running miles on them from dusty desert slickrock trails, to mud and snow shoulder season alpine trails, as well as a week long backpacking trip in the Sawtooths in October. I'm sure they work for some people. For me, who enjoys a stable, wide platform, and sensitive but protected ground feel, they're not what I was looking for.
