Best Powder touring ski
I have skied the Vapor for the past two seasons and have been thrilled with the weight and performance in everything but hard pack (I try to avoid this snow anyway). From steeper lines to open powder fields, this ski responds to my every wish and is forgiving enough for me to make up from my mistakes. Had a friend borrow mine for a test drive and he ended up ordering a pair that day.

Formula One Racing Car of a Ski!
After two seasons touring pow on the 189, all other skiing and skis have become kind of "second class". These are easily the most thrilling powder skis I can imagine. If my older Ski Logic Yetis (Think DPS Wailer 106, Voile Charger 110) at 184cm and 105 underfoot could be thought of as "Corvettes" then the Floats are a Formula One race car! Think about it: wide and long wheel base, best brakes in the world, quick acceleration, tight turns, wide turns, fast speeds and slow. I love the taller tip, safer, better for abrupt transitions and buried obstacles. AND, put them on edge, weight forward, and that tip pulls you into a tight turn SOOOO smoothly! Weight forward, forcing that big tip down into the snow also gives me braking/speed control like back when I skied "skinny" old 205s. The slightly rocketed tail allows heel weighted slarving yet can easily be punched into the snow when off your foot. Most important is the carbon nanotubes. The skis are soft but VERY resilient/responsive/reactive. It's like having the performance of a highly tuned racing ski only in powder! The light weight and 117mm width of course makes them a dream in the skintrack. With a light weight, large ROM boot (TLT 6 or 7, Arcteryx, La Sportiva, ++) you'll be doing the long stride cruise with ease! I ordered them through my local shop, The Goats Beard in Mazama, Washington. They came with a small gap between the edges and base on one side of both skis. The shop checked and I could have.them replaced, but have not, yet. I screwed up and hit a rock or pavement when shoving the tail into the snow early this year and broke one side of the tail protector, plus a slight delam. I easily fixed this with epoxy. The protector broke pretty easily but, because the skis are so thin in the tail, the protector is also. These defects have not diminished my love for the skis at all! Again, they are THRILLING!
