Great midweight hiker
This boot fit very well and has a bit more room in the toebox than others from La Sportiva. Very lightweight and comfortable.

Love them
I have an older model of this boot that I bought in 2009. I had a pair of a different brand of boots fail in an epic way just six weeks before a planned Half Dome day hike. The Trango Trek GTX were really comfortable out of the box. I got my last training hike in them and had no problems with it or the seventeen miles up and down Half Dome. I continued to use them for a bunch of backpacking trips in all kinds of weather and winter days at altitude with strap-on crampons. The soles stuck well on Sierra granite and gave great support on rocky rooty trails everywhere.

Great forever
I have a very old version of this boot that I purchased in the summer of 2009. I had a pair of other boots fail me in a dramatic way 1 month before a friend and I embarked on a one day hike to and up Half Dome. I got about fifteen miles of break-in hiking and didn't really need it. They were comfortable right out of the box. I've had them and used them consistently ever since. The soles hold up great and they were reasonably sticky on Sierra granite.
